At Flitcham Church of England Primary Academy we are committed to providing a fully accessible environment which values and includes all children, staff, parents and visitors regardless of their education, physical, social and cultural needs. We constantly strive to remove any forms of indirect discrimination that may form barriers to learning, ensuring that resources reflect a diverse society and do not contain negative images.
We are further committed to challenging attitudes about disability and to developing a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusion.
Safeguarding the children whilst they are at school is our priority. We do our very best to ensure every child is safe and protected from harm and support and promote the welfare of all children. In order to do this a wide range of measures are put in place.
Once the Academy day has begun access to the main academy and grounds may only be obtained by the pedestrian gate by the car park and then ringing the door bell at the main entrance. During the day, all visitors and anyone collecting a child must report to the office. At the end of the day children are handed over to their parents/carers by their teachers. Parents/carers are expected to inform the academy if another adult is collecting their child at the end of the day.
Flitcham C of E Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This includes obtaining references and ensures compliance with the DBS process.
